Bay Lake and Ottertail Lake
Lucie has been on the go this past week visiting Bay Lake and Ottertail Lake. Some of her new favorite things are: playing in the sand, splashing in the water, trying to eat grass, standing, reading her favorite book "Baby Boo," and eating. She is full of energy and is keeping mom and dad on their toes! Here are some highlights from the past week.

She loved this airplane (it squeaked)

Oddly enough she didn't try to put any sand in her mouth...

I HAVE BEEN BUSY!
Happy 7 months today to Lucie! She has grown a lot this month. She has been eating a lot of fruits and vegetables (applesauce her favorite), likes to sit and play with her toys, says "Mama" when she wants to be picked up (or so we think she is saying it, maybe it just sounds that way....), likes to take walks, and for Michael's birthday yesterday started crawling on all fours. I think we're going to be pretty busy now!
Lucie got to spend last weekend with her cousins, CeCe, Annie and Oliver. They had fun playing together and I know she already misses them!

Lucie had a busy weekend up north. Below are some pictures of our fun-filled weekend at LuneyBerries.

Cuddling with mommy and daddy.

Daddy and Uncle Erik with their girls.

Auntie Kari played with Lucie a lot. We all miss her a lot as she is back in Bozeman. :(

She can't wait for those strawberries to grow!

We visited new friend Cecelia Tulek (right) and cousin Blair is on the left. Lucie looks so big compared to those two little cuties!

Happy Mother's Day!

This post is dedicated to all you mommies out there. Though I have only been a mom for 5 months, I have loved every second of it. I truly never believed my mom when she would say to me, "You won't understand the worrying, just wait until you are a mom!" I never realized as she would wait by the door for me to come home on those late weekend nights what was going through her head. I didn't think anything was a big deal. Now I do. Boy, do I. Someone once told me that once you are a mom you are one forever, even if your child is 45 years old. You will continue to worry, support, and love your child forever.

I was home last weekend in Grand Rapids and I was dancing around the living room to entertain Lucie. I looked up and my mom said to me (with a serious look on her face), "you really could have been a professional dancer." Now, if any of you know me I danced throughout my childhood, but by no means could I have ever been a professional dancer! It was more of a hobby, if you know what I mean. Sure I can do the jive with the best of them, but you would never see me in the American Ballet Theater! I will never forget this moment because I just thought to myself, after all of those years of support my mom gave me while I was dancing, she STILL believes in me ten years later. Now, that is what I call dedication. I hope I can be the mom to Lucie that she was to me.

Below are pictures of moms that have truly helped me along during these first 5 months. Thank you for all of your support, love, and advice through everything. You have given me much to live up to as you are all amazing mothers (except Kari of course, but her nannying skills are quite impressive)!

We recently returned from the Cayman Islands with Grandpa Bob and Grandma Dee, Bobbie, Willy, CeCe, Annie, Oliver and Aunt Julie. We had a wonderful time! Some of the highlights for Lucie were: swimming in the pool, walks with Daddy on the beach, cousin Annie pushing her in the stroller, watching CeCe do her tricks in the pool, and feeling the ocean and sand in her toes. She was a good little girl and really enjoyed spending time with everyone. Here are some pictures from our trip.
